Our story

MOLINO PEILA SpA was founded at the beginning of 20th century by Domenico Peila for the production of common wheat flour.
Later enlarged and developed during the 60s and 70s by his sons, by the end of the 80s it had been converted for corn milling by the founder's grandsons, having foreseen what would be the successive developments in this field.
Today, MOLINO PEILA SpA represents one of the first examples of company transformation within the milling sector and can count, among its customers, the largest international food producing companies.
The food producing sector, the heart of its activity, deals with the milling of corn for the production of bran for traditional and instant polenta; bran and broken grain for snacks and chips; gritz for cornflakes and beer; corn flour for biscuits, pasta, confectionery and breading; and germs for the production of oil.

Over the course of the years, the milling plant has been progressively expanded and equipped with ever more sophisticated machines and control equipment.
Plant computerization has reached such an extensive level that it guarantees the constant monitoring of the cycles every critical parameter.
In parallel, the packaging departments have also been modernised and equipped with automated production lines to face the most varied demands of product packaging (packaging from 500 g, 1000 g, single-doses from 250 g or 2 or 4 kg maxi formats).

The storage warehouses and the handling areas of the various products (not just corn flour, but also the flour and bran from different cereals) have been developed to meet the production capacity of the milling and packaging plant, and to both supply a service, and have an efficient and constant distribution network.
Furthermore, there is an internal laboratory to carry out routine checks on all the products and goods in process. The staff are highly specialised and the instruments employed are state of the art.
